Have memory difficulties that impact their daily routine and independence
Slur their speech, have trouble getting words out easily, or feel tension when speaking/singing
Speak too loud, too soft, or their voice sounds breathy, harsh, rough, or scratchy
Were diagnosed with a neurological disease or condition including aphasia, dysarthria, mild cognitive impairment, any form of dementia, Parkinson's disease, ALS, TBI, etc
Find it difficult to complete their usual daily, weekly, or monthly tasks due to cognitive deficits, brain fog, or cognitive fatigue
Cough or clear their throat often during or after eating or frequently have food/liquid go "down the wrong pipe"
Have pain or difficulty chewing or swallowing
Have difficulty keeping food/liquid within their mouth or pocket food in their cheeks
Have been diagnosed with aspiration pneumonia
Need an augmented or alternative form of communication when verbal communication is difficult or out of reach
